Is it me or do all fireworks displays look the same? I was watching the opening of the Asian Games in Qatar and listened to the commentators ooh and aah over the fireworks on show at the end. Sure, they look great lighting up the dark sky. My point is, it's been that way as long as I can remember. Doesn't it get old at some point? Can't the fireworks people come up with something new - maybe something that doesn't leave a cloud of black smoke behind. What are all the scientists doing? We definitely need some innovations in this area.
